Around 130 years ago, a group of technical visionaries embarked on the journey of developing motorized vehicles. This innovation not only ushered in the industrial era but also granted people newfound freedom.
Vehicles became transformative, enabling independent movement and allowing individuals to carve out their own slices of time. Historic vehicles stand today as crucial elements of our cultural heritage.
Each decade brings a unique spirit and design language, captivating enthusiasts worldwide. Millions are drawn to specific eras, investing considerable resources to maintain these vehicles in pristine conditions, frozen in a timeless loop.
FIA (International Automobile Federation), FIM (International Motorcycle Federation), and FIVA (International Federation for Historic Vehicles) have united to celebrate and preserve historic vehicles. Together, we’ve crafted a Manifesto that articulates the passion for this cultural heritage. It aims to illuminate the dedication enthusiasts pour into maintaining vehicles with meticulous care, serving as active custodians for present and future generations.
Surveys among historic vehicle owners reveal an annual expenditure of almost €5,000 on average, driving fewer than 1,500 km per year, typically undertaking 15 trips annually.
This Manifesto serves to underscore the significance of this self-financed protection of our shared heritage. It champions the passionate efforts to protect, preserve, and present historic vehicles, ensuring they remain vital threads in the fabric of our collective motoring legacy.
