FIVA team meets Chinese Ministry of Commerce delegation in Paris

Mr.Tiddo Bresters headed a team as President of FIVA at a working meeting with a delegation from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce in Paris.

The working meeting took place in the context of the Chinese government’s decree to change the regulations regarding the import policy for historic vehicles. It was held at the prestigious 6 Place de la Concorde in France, which has been the home of the Automobile Club de France (ACF) since 1898.

The meeting was attended by Mr Patrick Rollet, Honorary Member of FIVA, Mr Laurent Heriou, Vice-President, Mr Gautam Sen, Vice-President and Mr Gian Mario Mollar, Secretary General of FIVA.

Internationally prestigious event organiser Mr. Patrick Peter and Director of Salon Retromobile Mr. Romain Grabowski were also invited.

The Chinese delegation from the Ministry of Commerce was led by Vice Minister Sheng Qiuping and included many officials from frontline management.

Mr Zong Gui’an, President of FIVA’s Chinese ANF, attended and chaired the working meeting. He did a lot of work in the early stages to plan and promote this gathering.

The attending parties exchanged views on issues related to the promotion of automotive culture and industry in China, especially the classic car industry.

This was the first official contact between the two sides since the initial contact in 2015 in China (which was with a regional delegation) and was therefore of great historical significance and practical value. It will certainly play an important role in promoting the development of the classic car industry in China and the world.

Both sides agreed to continue to maintain close communication and develop in-depth co-operation in related areas.
